What is engineering?
Engineering is about problem solving, creative thinking, and applying new technology and ideas to our physical world. Studying engineering can lead to a challenging, flexible, and rewarding future with international opportunities.
If you like figuring out how things work and working with other people on complex problems you should consider becoming a professional engineer.
Engineers are responsible for the design and operation of all the infrastructure which underpins our society - things like
- telecommunications
- transport
- water and electricity supply
- the design of large structures like buildings and airports
- the design and operation of processing plants for food and forest products
- the design of consumer items like stereosystems and cars
- the design of manufacturing systems
